Broward County knows how to throw a party, and a lot of them happen on the water. Here’s a look at the events that define the calendar — and the ones we love to stream.
Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show
Every fall, Fort Lauderdale hosts one of the largest in-water boat shows in the world, spread across multiple marinas and the Broward County Convention Center. The 2026 show is scheduled for October 28 – November 1. Expect superyachts, the latest marine tech, water taxis between venues and heavy traffic — plan your parking or take the water taxi.
Winterfest Boat Parade
Each December, decorated boats parade along the New River and Intracoastal Waterway in one of South Florida’s best-known holiday traditions. Waterfront parks, restaurants and bridges fill with spectators, so arrive early.
Beach and Music Festivals
Fort Lauderdale Beach and Hollywood’s waterfront host concerts and festivals through the cooler months. Lineups and dates change year to year, so follow venue announcements and buy tickets early for big names.
Arts and Culture
The Broward Center for the Performing Arts brings touring Broadway shows, concerts and dance to downtown Fort Lauderdale’s Riverwalk Arts & Entertainment District. Hollywood’s ArtsPark at Young Circle hosts free concerts and community events.
Pride and Community Events
Wilton Manors and Fort Lauderdale host some of South Florida’s largest LGBTQ+ celebrations, and cities across the county run seasonal festivals, farmers markets and cultural heritage events.
Tips for Event Days
- Use rideshare, Brightline or the water taxi to skip parking headaches.
- Bring sun protection — most events are outdoors.
- Confirm dates on official event websites; schedules can shift for weather.
