Palm Beach County is full of places that feel like a postcard — and plenty that feel like a secret. Here are nine worth building a day around.
1. Worth Avenue, Palm Beach
Palm Beach’s famous shopping street, with Mediterranean-style courtyards (“vias”) hidden behind the storefronts. Window-shop, then wander the vias for fountains and quiet cafés.
2. Flagler Museum (Whitehall)
Henry Flagler’s Gilded Age mansion tells the story of the man whose railroad opened Florida’s east coast. Don’t miss his private rail car on the grounds.
3. Norton Museum of Art
West Palm Beach’s world-class art museum, with a striking modern expansion, a sculpture garden and rotating exhibitions.
4. Lake Worth Beach
A classic beach with a long fishing pier and a colorful, artsy downtown just across the bridge.
5. Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens
In Delray Beach, peaceful gardens, koi ponds and bonsai inspired by the Japanese farming colony that once settled the area.
6. Wakodahatchee Wetlands
A free boardwalk in Delray Beach where you can see herons, egrets, spoonbills, turtles and alligators — often at arm’s length. Bring a camera.
7. Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum
Climb the iconic red lighthouse for sweeping views of the inlet, the Loxahatchee River and the Atlantic.
8. Loggerhead Marinelife Center
In Juno Beach, this sea turtle hospital and education center lets you see rescued turtles on the road to recovery.
9. Lion Country Safari
Out west in Loxahatchee, drive your own car through a safari park where lions, giraffes and rhinos roam — a family favorite for decades.
Tip: check hours and admission online before you go — many attractions close one day a week or change hours seasonally.
